About the role
We are looking for a multi-tasker with excellent communication skills and an upbeat attitude. Candidates should be able to assist the program by handling office tasks, inputting data, scanning documents, providing polite and professional assistance via phone, mail, and e-mail, and generally being a helpful and positive presence in the workplace.
This role works in the Connected Beginnings team, focussing on increasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children’s and families’ engagement with family support and early childhood education and care. This role supports the team to support access to existing early childhood, maternal and child health, and family support services so children are safe, healthy, and ready to thrive at school in the Upper Ross catchment area by the age of five.
This role is part time (20 hours a week) on contract until 28th February 2026 with possibility of extension.
Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award 2010 (SCHADS) Level 2.1

Tasks of the role
Answer telephone and email phone messages to staff as required
Administration tasks including; Email communication, print, and scan documents
Maintain data collection for the program
Submit posts to the Facebook page
Encourage participation of community members
Create flyers on Canva
Create the quarterly newsletter
Assist with bookings and events
Participate in Professional Development
Essential skills and experience:
Proficiency in technology including using Microsoft suite
High level communication skills
Desired experience in administration or customer services preferred but not essential.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are strongly encouraged to apply.
Other Essential Requirements
Class C Driver’s License.
Satisfactory Police Check
Valid Blue Card
