About the role
Permanent Part-time role (21 hours per week).
The role of Corporate Events Officer is positioned within the Corporate Communications department. The role provides effective day-to-day and strategic planning, development and implementation - including the delivery, marketing, communication and logistics - of a broad range of organisational events and civic celebrations. The purpose of the role is to deliver organisational and civic events through target events that raise the profile of Penrith Council and Penrith City.
Essential criteria
• Tertiary qualification in Event Management, Marketing or a related discipline. • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing events, festivals, civic celebrations or organisational events. • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing an integrated marketing/communications campaign for an event. • Experience working across multiple stakeholders to deliver events, festivals, civic celebrations, or organisational events. • Financial experience i.e. budgets, sponsorships or grants. • Strong administration skills and PC skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, desktop publishing and typing skills. • Current Class C Driver's Licence and own reliable transport.
Desirable criteria
• Experience implementing civic protocol. • Strong organisation, analytical, problem solving and communication skills (written and verbal). • An understanding of marketing / communications principles. • Experience working with and managing volunteers/voluntary organisations.
Commencing salary: $50.96 - $59.00 per hour, plus 12% Superannuation.
You will be required to undertake employment checks, which may include a Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test, as relevant to the position for which you have applied. Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes, you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council, for review, in order to progress through the recruitment process.
