About the Project
This project will deliver a series of small-group, peer-supported workshops based on the principles of Customised Employment (CE). The workshops are open to people with disability, regardless of NDIS status, and are designed to be inclusive, accessible, and community-based. Participants will explore their strengths, develop a Visual Resume, build digital literacy, and co-create a personalised Job Seeking Plan. Supporters such as family members and support workers will also be engaged to ensure holistic and sustainable outcomes. The Project Officer will be provided with structured training and a training package to be utilised during the workshops. This is a fixed-term contract (20 hours a week to 30 June 2026) based on grant funding.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct intake and onboarding processes to ensure participants are supported to engage in a group setting.
Facilitate weekly workshops (1–2 sessions per week over 14-week terms) – Maroochydore workshop space.
Guide participants and their supporters through the Discovery process to identify their interests, strengths, and employment goals.
Support participants in developing Visual Resumes and Job Seeking Plans.
Organise and/or deliver digital literacy coaching tailored to increase confidence in the use of employment related digital media.
Foster a positive, peer-supported learning environment.
Engage with supporters to reinforce learning and continuity of support.
About You
You are a confident facilitator with a strong understanding of disability inclusion and employment support. You bring a person-centred, strengths-based approach to your work and are comfortable working independently while collaborating with stakeholders.
Essential Criteria:
Experience working with people with disability in employment, education, or community settings.
Commitment to the fundamental principle of customised employment – everyone who wants to work, can work.
Practised group facilitation skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Digital literacy.
Ability to manage project timelines and reporting requirements.
Desirable:
Knowledge of inclusive practices in mainstream community settings.
Understanding of Customised Employment or similar person-centred employment models.
Ability to coach others in using digital tools.
