ABOUT US:
Australian Veteran Health Services (AVHS) is a unique, multi-disciplinary medical service supporting former and current Defence personnel as they transition to civilian life. Established by Veterans for Veterans, we work collaboratively with established medical and ex-service organisations to provide DVA claims support, Permanent Impairment Assessments, Veteran Review Board (VRB) reports, and ADF Transition Medicals.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
Supporting our team of psychologists, psychiatrists and social workers you will be responsible for diary management, relationship management and providing warm support to veterans. You will play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and professional experience for our veterans and their families buy providing accurate information and maintaining documentation.
ABOUT YOU:
You are highly experienced with a background in medical administration and are passionate about what you do. With strong interpersonal and communication skills, you build trusting relationships and can navigate multiple stakeholders with confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Managing client and clinician needs, including answering calls, emails and scheduling appointments.
Handling veteran inquiries with care, professionalism and confidentiality
Processing documentation including, Medicare and DVA claims
Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations
Maintaining accurate records and supporting the clinical team
Selection Criteria
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a busy medical practice
Ability to build rapport and support patient/clinician relationship
Proficiency in Best Practice or other medical booking software
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team
Desirable:
Experience working with psychologists, psychiatrists and social workers
Experience working with Australian veterans or veteran-focused services
Knowledge of the DVA claims process
