About the role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Medical Receptionist who has worked in GP practice to join the team at MedStar Medical Centre in Redbank Plains, QLD. This is a casual, part-time or Full-time position, offering flexible working arrangements to suit your needs. As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service to our patients and supporting the smooth running of our medical practice.

What you'll be doing

Greeting and welcoming patients in a warm and friendly manner

Scheduling appointments and managing the practice's appointment diary

Handling patient inquiries and providing information about the practice's services

Assisting with patient registration and the collection of relevant medical information

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records

Performing various administrative tasks to support the clinical team

Ensuring the reception area is well-organised and presentable at all times

What we're looking for

Minimum of 2 years' experience in a medical receptionist role within a GP practice

Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues

Strong organisational and multi-tasking abilities to manage a busy reception area

Proficiency in using medical practice management software and standard office equipment

Proficiency in medical practice software (Best Practice) and Microsoft Office applications

A friendly, professional and compassionate demeanour

Familiarity with medical terminology and a keen interest in the healthcare industry

Experience with Medicare billing and health fund claiming procedures

Must have Australian work rights and be eligible to work in Queensland

Strong data entry skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
