About the role
Join our Municipal Building Team and gain valuable exposure to building regulations, customer service, and council operations. This role is perfect for a student looking to apply their studies in a real-world setting.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Municipal Building Surveyor and Deputy Municipal Building Surveyor, your role will
- Engage with Council departments, authorities, and the public to resolve building-related queries and issues.
- Provide basic technical advice and timely correspondence on building matters to staff and members of the public.
- Support and contribute to an effective, cohesive Municipal Building Surveyor team to ensure consistent service delivery.
- Assist with finalising building permits and address complaints to ensure compliance with building standards.
- Maintain accurate Council records for building permits and associated contractual work.

About you
- You are a student currently studying a tertiary Building Surveying course or a similar discipline
- Some work experience working in a professional environment is preferred, but not essential
