What do you do?

The overall objective of the position is to carry out the role and functions as a representative of the Relevant Building Surveyor in a Building Permit application in relation to Class 2 – 9 buildings. The person should
be able to work independently with limited supervision.

• Attend project meetings for larger development projects
• Coordinate and attend FRV meetings in conjunction with Fire engineering to finalize regulatory strategy
• Coordination of Building Surveying BCA and Regulatory strategies for each large commercial project
• Support Asst Building Surveyors with training and coordination of workflow and projects
• Assist in resolving problem issues with projects as well as VBA and Council queries
• Provide a supportive and supervisory role for Asst Building Surveyors and Admin support staff
• Provide support for Commercial Team Manager

What do you need?

• Applicant should have a tertiary qualification being a Diploma or a Batchelor in Building Surveying.
• Highly desirable if the applicant has a Fire engineering qualification.
• Highly desirable that the applicant be registration in the category of BSU or BSL.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Building Surveying checking.
• Thorough knowledge of Building Code of Australia Volume One.
• Thorough knowledge of aspects of the Building Act 1993 and Regulations in relation to Class 2 – 9 buildings
