About the role
The ICT Operations and Security Lead is a newly created role to shape the internal systems and practices that will enable our next stage of growth. Taking over reigns from the CTO, you’ll lead how we manage ICT security, architecture, risk, and SOC 2 compliance. You’ll work closely with our MSP to ensure stellar delivery of internal services like help desk, onboarding, offboarding, and device management. The core responsibilities of the role include:
Oversee day-to-day ICT services, device management, and incident response in partnership with our MSP
Maintain a roadmap of operational and compliance improvements aligned to growth and risk
Architect core systems and identity access such as Microsoft Entra ID, Kandji, and Atera
Maintain strong security and compliance practices, including SOC 2 audits, access reviews, SEIM, and disaster recovery planning
Drive continuous improvement by delivering system improvements and operational efficiencies
Champion best practice through training, awareness campaigns, and expert guidance
Respond to security assessments, RFPs, and due diligence requests alongside our Sales and SRE teams
Do you have what it takes?
5+ years in ICT operations or systems management
Bachelor of Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent
Proven ability to lead ICT improvement and change management initiatives
Experience working with or managing MSPs and monitoring SLAs
Experience implementing and managing endpoint security, access controls, SEIM and monitoring tools such as Datadog
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) or equivalent identity manager, SSO, and RBAC
Expert knowledge of macOS and iOS ecosystems
Familiarity with SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001), Australian Privacy Principles, and GRC tools such as Vanta
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Bonus: Scripting (Python, Shell) or low code (Zapier, Workato, AI agents) for automating repetitive tasks

A base salary between $130,000 and $140,000 depending on your skills and experience.
Work remotely from anywhere in Australia as long as you have a stable internet connection and a comfortable setup. We do have offices and hubs throughout the country for face to face.
