The Role
As the HR Generalist, you will lead a stand-alone HR function that oversees the full employee lifecycle and drives operational excellence. Reporting into the Managing Director and CEO, this role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the HR landscape, implement strategic HR solutions, and partner with leadership to enhance employee engagement and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end HR function independently, covering all aspects of the employee lifecycle
- Oversee recruitment and onboarding processes
- Administer payroll in collaboration with an outsourced payroll provider
- Respond to HR queries and maintain up-to-date HR files and documentation
- Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the Management team and Director Group
- Conduct new hire check-ins and exit interviews
- Manage HRIS functions and provide training
- Oversee leave and attendance management, providing regular reporting
- Create and update internal policies, ensuring firm-wide compliance
- Anticipate people needs and implement HR solutions aligned with strategic goals
- Run employee engagement initiatives and coordinate HR projects
- Maintain a strong understanding of relevant awards and industrial instruments
About You:
We are seeking an experienced, proactive HR professional who thrives in a standalone role and can balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
Core Competencies:
- Proven experience in an HR generalist capacity (5+ years)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in HRIS systems
- Professional, driven, and capable of working autonomously
- Experience in the legal industry is desirable but not essential
Qualifications:
- Relevant HR/Business qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of HR practices, awards, and industrial instruments
