This is a fantastic opportunity for an Events & Reservations Coordinator to join our team at the International Hotel Wagga Wagga. You will be responsible for the operational aspects of the Events department and for coordinating all events from preliminary enquiries, event setup and running of events from arrival through to close of the event. You will also assist the Reservations team with greeting Hotel guests, accommodation enquiries and the general running of the front office.
This role requires flexibility in both front of house operations as well as strong scheduling and time management in the office getting events and accommodation booked in. Must be flexible with attitude to help in other areas of the venue if/when required for example our restaurant, Pinnacle's Restaurant & Bar.
You will be responsible for:
Functions management from taking enquiries to completion of successful events;
Marketing of functions;
Events administration;
Operations - assisting in the venue set up and supervision of Events;
Be experienced in identifying and converting sales leads into new business opportunities and maintaining relationships with key new corporate clients;
Have the ability to respond to event enquiries competently and in a timely fashion;
Be responsible for quoting accurately for all events and catering opportunities;
Prepare accurate run sheets and communicate details of the function to other staff;
Be available to meet and greet the client and ensure the smooth functioning of the event as it takes place;
Assist in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the hotel's front office;
Effectively manage the daily reconciliation of the hotel's trading;
Effectively communicating with all departments of the hotel to ensure guest satisfaction is consistently achieved;
Effective coordination of guest arrivals and departures;
Managing guest relations to deliver truly memorable experiences for our guests;
Utilisation of the Front Office system to meet operational needs and produce accurate reports.
To be considered for this role you will:
Be able to work well within a small team/office and work collaboratively with our Executive Chef;
Have strong computer skills in Microsoft Office – Excel & Word, event databases and client tracking;
Knowledge of marketing to improve areas of functions and attract new clientele;
Excellent communication skills;
Strong organisational abilities;
High level of attention to detail;
A hands-on approach;
Previous Events experience;
Experience with RMS or another PMS;
Current RSA;
You will be a highly organised individual with a proactive and enthusiastic attitude;
Be highly self-motivated and must possess proven excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
