About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Delivery Engineer to join the Civil Construction Team. As the Project Delivery Engineer you will make a difference daily by assisting in the development and delivery of annual strategic asset renewal programs and capital work programs for civil related infrastructure. You will report directly to the Team Leader Construction Engineering and work collaboratively with the Civil Construction Team facilitating a number of our key projects.

This is a full-time permanent role based at the Operations Centre. We support flexible working arrangements while ensuring operational needs of the role are met.

This is a Band 6 classified role. Remuneration will be $98,353.35 to $107,416.64 (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.

What you will bring to this role

The key selection criteria for this role are:

  • Degree or tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering
  • Technical understanding and working knowledge of civil engineering / infrastructure principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral, including the ability to gain cooperation from people both within the organisation and outside of Council.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder/community consultation skills in the delivery of civil infrastructure projects and ability to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Experienced contract management skills – ability to develop contracts, including specifications, and ability to successfully manage contractors.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the capacity to effectively communicate and collaborate with the team, other Council staff, contractors and the local community.
  • Experience in project-based budget management
  • Asset management skills to assist in the development of strategic asset renewal and civil infrastructure programs.
  • Knowledge of the Local Government and road management environment and relevant legislation would be an advantage
