Financial Services Officer- Credit Management | Part-time hours (24 hours)

We're seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Services Officer– Credit Management to join our high-performing team. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing Warrigal’s debtor accounts—monitoring overdue payments, negotiating repayment plans, and collaborating with external agencies to ensure financial sustainability. The opportunity

You will take on a key role as Financial Services Officer – Credit Management, helping to manage and monitor Warrigal’s customer accounts and ensure a respectful, effective approach to debt recovery. You’ll work to identify overdue debts, follow up with customers, and negotiate fair repayment arrangements that align with our values and financial responsibilities.

You will collaborate with teams across Warrigal as well as external partners, including debt collection agencies, to resolve outstanding accounts and minimise financial risk. Your day-to-day will include preparing correspondence, maintaining accurate records in our systems, and using financial data to track progress and support informed decision-making.

What you’ll bring

  • You’re a detail-oriented finance professional with a strong background in credit management and a genuine commitment to building respectful, solutions-focused relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • With proven experience in managing debtor accounts, negotiating repayment plans, and applying best-practice collection strategies, you balance empathy with accountability to deliver fair and sustainable financial outcomes.
  • You bring strong communication and negotiation skills to every interaction—whether you're working with customers, internal teams, or external agencies—and are confident navigating sensitive conversations around payments with professionalism and care.
  • You’re passionate about contributing to a positive workplace culture and are proactive in identifying opportunities for process improvement, data-driven decision-making, and cross-team collaboration.
  • Experience in aged care, not-for-profit, or similarly values-driven sectors is highly regarded, especially if you understand the unique financial considerations and compliance requirements in these environments.

What it takes to do this work

Essential:

  • Credit Control Experience: Demonstrated experience in a credit control or similar finance-related role.
  • Systems Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of ERP/accounting systems and high-level proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, including professional telephone manner and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Negotiation Expertise: Proven negotiation skills with a solid understanding of effective collection strategies and techniques.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively as a supportive and effective team member.
  • Relationship Building: Strong capability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Desirable:

  • Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in the Aged Care sector, with familiarity with the Aged Care and Retirement Village Acts.
  • Legal Awareness: Understanding of legal frameworks and requirements related to debt collection.
  • ERP Experience: Prior experience using the Epicor ERP system.
