Our Practice

Join our dynamic surgical practice (solo surgeon) located within St Vincent’s Clinic Darlinghurst. Our medical software system is Clinic to Cloud.

We pride ourselves on delivering the highest level of patient care in a professional and comfortable environment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our patients receive exceptional service and support throughout their journey.

The Role

As our Practice Manager, you will have a diverse and dynamic work experience, undertaking a wide range of duties and responsibilities. Your main objective will be to oversee the daily operations of the practice and lead the team, enabling the specialist to focus on providing exceptional patient care.

This is a permanent full-time position working 5 days per week and the hours are 8.30am to 5pm. The salary is $95-100k per annum depending upon previous skills and knowledge.

Your Duties & Responsibilities

Provide supervision and leadership to the team including training and performance management

Stay abreast and have your finger on the pulse in relation to billing patient flow, patient care and theatre management

Management and co-ordination of billings (consultation, surgical and health funds)

Being a busy surgical practice, you will also provide admin support

Coordinate surgery admissions, hospital paperwork and theatre lists in conjunction with administration staff

Efficient management of all patient data, appointments, procedures, clinical files, correspondence and accounts

Maintain high standards of practice processes and procedures for maximum efficiency

Monitor clinic performance and collaborate with the accountant in relation to financial reporting

Ensure compliance with HR best practices systems, risk management and WHS

Work closely with the doctor to ensure the best possible experience is provided by the clinic to the patients and families

Coordinate staff payroll, accounts receivable/payable and maintain debt prevention

Foster strong relationships with healthcare professionals and stakeholders within the health community

To be successful in this position, you will have the following attributes:-

Previous experience as a Practice Manager or Senior Medical Secretary in a busy private specialist practice (experience working for a surgeon will be highly regarded)

Competent in using Genie medical software is desirable (training available if required) and Microsoft Office Suite

You understand the operational functions within a specialist practice and the importance of a Practice Manager role in ensuring the smooth operational daily function. You are always ten steps ahead on account of your thorough organisation, planning and action

Passionate, energy and a team-focussed approach

A high level of numeracy skills and attention to detail

Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with medical professionals and hospitals

Able to work to deadlines and adapt to changing conditions with the ability to generate effective solutions to new situations and problems as they are presented
