A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Finance Officer or Financial Accountant to join a respected and growing statutory government body known for its positive culture, great leadership, and flexible work environment.

This contract role offers genuine work-life balance and the ability to tailor your schedule around 25 hours per week.

This part-time contract is based in Brisbane’s CBD with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week once onboarding is complete.

Foundations:

• Term: ASAP until February 2026 (with potential for extension)
• Location: Brisbane CBD
• Work Hours: 25 hours per week – flexible across the working week (e.g. 5 short days or less longer days – to be discussed)
• Work from Home: Up to 2/3 days per week after onboarding

Key responsibilities include:

• Month-end close activities: journals, accruals, ledger reviews
• Budget maintenance and GL coding checks
• Ledger integrity and governance oversight
• Liaising with shared services (e.g. for tax and GL reconciliations)
• Supporting and refining internal finance processes
• Reviewing data and generating insights
• Assist with budgeting updates

You’ll Bring

• Previous financial accounting accounting experience
• CPA/CA + relevant tertiary qualifications (desirable)
• Strong systems experience (TechnologyOne ideal but not essential)
• Excellent knowledge of GL, financial statements, budgeting and governance
• Ability to work independently, assess what’s needed, and take initiative
• Previous public sector or statutory body experience highly regarded (not essential)
