Job Title: HR Assistant (Part-Time)
Reports to: HR/OSH Manager Work Schedule: 4 days per week, 4 hours per day (16 hours/week) Location: Rossmoyne
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Assistant to support our Human Resources operations. This part-time role is ideal for someone with strong administrative skills and a keen eye for accuracy, who thrives in a structured environment. The HR Assistant will play a key role in maintaining HR systems, ensuring compliance, and supporting the HR/OSH Manager with day-to-day administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
· Rostering Support: Preparing and updating staff rosters. Respond promptly to shift cancellations or sick calls by sourcing and confirming replacement staff to ensure operational continuity.
· Timesheet Verification: Review and verify employee timesheets for accuracy and completeness before payroll processing.
· Payroll Processing: Assist with the preparation and processing of payroll on a fortnightly basis, ensuring accurate and timely payments in line with company policies and award conditions.
· Electronic Filing: Maintain and organize digital HR records, ensuring all documents are filed correctly and securely.
· Personnel File Audits & Updates: Conduct regular audits of personnel files to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements. Update records as needed.
· Criminal Record Checks: Coordinate and track criminal background checks for new hires and existing staff as required.
· General HR Administration: Support various HR functions including onboarding, offboarding, data entry, document preparation, and responding to employee queries.
· Compliance & Confidentiality: Ensure all HR practices comply with relevant legislation and maintain strict confidentiality of employee information.

Key Skills & Attributes:
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (Definitiv preferred but not essential)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level), Word, and Outlook required. Experience with HRIS systems (Definitiv preferred)
· Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Qualifications & Experience:
· Previous experience in an HR or administrative support role preferred
Minimum of 1-2 years experience in HR or administrative support role preferred
· Familiarity with HR processes and employment legislation is an advantage
· Certificate or diploma in Human Resources or Business Administration (desirable but not essential)
Must have full Australian work rights
Current National Police Clearance required (or willing to obtain)
