Riverland Funerals has an exciting opportunity for an experienced General Manager to lead their dedicated and values-driven team!

About the Opportunity

As the General Manager at Riverland Funerals, you’ll play a vital role in leading the organisation. This is a dynamic and rewarding position that combines strategic thinking with leadership. Working closely with the management team, you’ll help shape and implement long-term plans for growth, while ensuring the organisation continues to meet the highest of standards.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

Develop and implement business strategies aligned with company values and objectives.

Ensure efficiency, performance, and alignment with strategic goals

Manage budgeting, reporting, financial systems, and ensure cost-effective operations and risk management

Ensure legal, regulatory, and policy compliance across all functions, including WHS and IT

Lead HR initiatives including recruitment, staff development, workplace culture, and employee relations

Build and maintain strong relationships with staff, partners, industry bodies, and external stakeholders

Ensure a safe and compliant work environment, promote a culture of safety, and manage incident reporting

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

A degree in Business, Management, Finance, or a related field (social sciences or healthcare also considered) is desired but not essential

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a General Manager or in a senior leadership role

Strong track record in managing teams

Experience with budgeting, financial forecasting, and reporting

Skilled in developing and executing strategic plans

Inspires and motivates teams to work towards shared goals

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Builds strong relationships and treats everyone with respect and empathy

Being able to think on your feet and make sound decisions under pressure

Strong focus on policy and procedure

Calm, compassionate, and professional especially in difficult situations

Understands the sensitive nature of the industry and responds with care

Brings energy, optimism, and professionalism to the team

Must hold a valid driver’s licence.
