Are you a highly organised, proactive and relational learning design professional who thrives in a purpose-driven environment? Tabor is seeking an experienced Learning Designer to play a key role in the development of fully online degrees.

Tabor is a Private Higher Education Provider offering tertiary education grounded in a Christian perspective. With faculties in Ministry Practice, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Education, we equip students—future teachers, counsellors, youth workers, pastors, musicians, and creative writers—for flourishing in their personal, spiritual, and professional lives.

The role:

The Learning Designer plays a key role in the development of our fully online degrees. You’ll do this by helping to convert face to face content into engaging, high quality online learning, grounded in adult learning theory and evidence-based pedagogy, while advising on best-practice curriculum, assessment and activity design for higher education courses.

Working closely with the Executive Director, Digital Learning & Innovations and teaching staff, the Learning Designer will create high quality online learning experiences and content that employ evidence based pedagogical strategies to foster student engagement and active learning in a higher education context.

The role advises on best-practice design for learning activities, curriculum and assessment; develops online modules in Rise 360, Storyline, H5P and Moodle; and collaborates on graphics and video production to enhance course materials. The Learning Designer will also help identify and develop software tools, resources and templates that streamline content production while upholding sound pedagogical principles, ensuring all materials meet TEQSA, AQF and TELAS quality standards and comply with WCAG accessibility guidelines.

About You

You are passionate about the creation of high quality online learning experiences, have extensive knowledge of adult learning principles and pedagogies in a higher education context, and proven experience in the development and implementation of engaging online learning and teaching content, including assessment. Your experience in the design, preparation and implementation of online learning courses using web-based platforms such as Rise 360, Storyline and Moodle will ensure your success in this role.

Educational / Vocational Qualifications

· Postgraduate qualification in Learning Design, Educational Technology, Higher Education or a related field.

· Certification in instructional design or eLearning / online learning authoring tools.

· An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

· Knowledge of the tertiary education sector in Australia and of the context in which Tabor operates as a private Christian tertiary education institution is preferable.
