Business Operations Coordinator - NSW Government

  • Pay Rate: $500 - $550 per day + Super
  • Location: Sydney CBD - 3 days on-site, 1 day WFH
  • Assignment Duration: Anticipated until 10th July 2026 with potential to extend
  • Hours: Approx. 30 - 36 hours per week (4 days a week)

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a high-profile NSW Government agency supporting a large-scale, internationally recognised festival in the arts and events space.

About the Role:

As the Business Operations Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the festival team, providing high-level administrative and business coordination to ensure the smooth delivery of this major event. From procurement and financial tracking to contract management and customer service, you’ll be the go-to person for operational support.

This is a 4-day per week contract role suited to someone with excellent coordination, systems, and stakeholder skills – ideally with experience in government or the events/creative sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate business operations including procurement, finance, and team support.
  • Track budgets, assist with reporting and forecasting, and support finance functions such as invoicing and reconciliations.
  • Manage contracts, grant documentation, and compliance records.
  • Oversee customer service channels and coordinate responses during the event lifecycle.
  • Support contractor onboarding and team inductions.
  • Maintain and improve business systems, workflow tools, and document management processes.
  • Prepare and manage correspondence, meeting agendas, minutes, and internal communications.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Strong background in administration, business operations, or project coordination.
  • Understanding of government processes including finance, procurement, and contracts.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to juggle competing deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, finance software, and workflow tools.
  • Previous experience in events, tourism, creative industries, or public sector is highly desirable.

  • Start date: ASAP, pending police check and two references.
  • Office facilities provided (no on-site parking).
