The Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) Service supports the frontline policing and corporate operations of SAPOL through the provision of ICT infrastructure and communication platforms, operational software applications, and support services. The Service is responsible for driving the ongoing evolution of ICT capability across SAPOL, through the delivery of high-quality ICT change programs. The Service is structured across four core pillars: Strategy, Innovation and Engagement; Program Delivery; Operational Services; and Security. The Service extends from traditional ICT services to encompass a specialist radio and technology capability, including laser and radar calibration services.
The Quality and Assurance Branch provides a wide range of services to IS&T to enable the Service to provide quality reliable systems to SAPOL. This includes managing the lower environments and providing effective change control to protect the production environment. The Branch will also manage IS&T contracts and relationships along with managing our equipment and IT assets. The Branch provides a testing service to the rest of the Service, assuring quality and usability of new or enhanced systems and services.
The Release and Environment Coordinator is responsible for contributing to establishing our framework to support planning and implementing a program of work to ensure IS&T non-production environments are maintained to a high quality for the purpose of development, testing and training. The position also leads the planning, scheduling and control of releases between environments.
The successful candidate will be adept at navigating complex, multi-layered technical systems and effectively communicating with a diverse range of stakeholders across various projects.
10 month fixed term position with possibility of extension.
What you'll need to succeed
Relevant degree qualification in Information Technology or related discipline; or commensurate industry experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of ICT release, testing and ITIL change management processes as well as practical expertise in working within broad direction developing and managing IT environments in complex organisations.
Demonstrated experience in software development, or software deployment including significant competence in operating within an SDLC and an ITIL environment.
Proven expertise in planning, developing and delivering projects and multiple concurrent services
Experience working in large, complex organisations with a mix of in house developed and off the shelf software and infrastructure.
High level analytical skills, a thorough and methodical approach to detail and demonstrated technical expertise in resolving and implementing solutions to complex and critical deployment and automation activities.
Successful record of identifying customer needs, developing service strategies, and providing quality customer services in either a public or private sector environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills to impart information and communicate complex technical ICT concepts in a professional manner and to a wide range of audiences, including the development of documentation to a high standard.
Demonstrated leadership and management skills with the ability to work with autonomy in determining methodologies and applying significant delegated authority to determine priorities, set goals and achieve agreed outcomes.
Special Conditions
The incumbent must hold a current Australian work eligibility status and will be subject to a criminal history check.
The incumbent may be assigned to other duties at this remuneration level or equivalent.
Some out of hours work and intra/interstate travel may be required.
The incumbent is required to participate in SAPOL's iEngage program.
Salary
ASO7 - $108,109 - $116,864 per annum.
