We’re on the lookout for a down-to-earth, people-focused HR Partner to join our close-knit team in a full-time, salaried role.
You’ll be employed by a HR consultancy, but this is not a contracting opportunity or traditional consulting-style role. You’ll be part of a values-led team delivering outsourced HR support that’s tailored, real and genuinely helpful.
While we're open to the right person, we’d love to find someone based in Victoria to align with the rhythm of our internal operations.
About the role
You’ll manage a portfolio of clients across different industries. It’s a hands-on role with variety, depth and plenty of people connection. From onboarding, policy advice and award interpretation to culture, strategy and investigations, you’ll be supporting clients with people matters that are real, timely and often sensitive.
This isn’t corporate HR, and it’s not internal BAU. It’s proactive, practical work that makes a difference and we back each other every step of the way.
You’ll work alongside like-minded colleagues who value one another’s strengths, share knowledge generously, and truly care about doing great work together.
Who this role is right for
This is an ideal sidestep for someone who’s mid-career and ready to focus on the part of their role they’ve always loved — people
Maybe you’ve worked as a Practice Manager, Operations Manager or General Manager in a growing business. You’ve led teams, supported performance, had the hard conversations, and want to take that skill into something more people focused.
Or maybe you’ve done HR alongside other responsibilities and are ready to focus on that path. We care less about your job title and more about your mindset and people leadership experience.
This role requires someone who’s confident, curious and ready to take ownership from day one. We’ll onboard and support you, but daily handholding just isn’t how our remote team operates.
You’ll thrive in this role if you:
Have managed people, performance and day-to-day personnel issues with confidence
Are comfortable navigating Fair Work, NES and Modern Awards (or learning fast)
Communicate clearly and calmly, with a people-first mindset
Juggle competing priorities and deadlines without losing your cool
Have great attention to detail and take real pride in your work
Work well independently and enjoy being part of a supportive, no-drama team
We also want to be upfront; if you don’t have practical, hands-on experience with Australian HR or people leadership, this won’t be the right fit. Because our team works remotely and supports clients across different industries, we need someone who’s already confident working within local frameworks and ready to contribute from day one.
Formal HR qualifications are welcomed but not essential. We care more about the experience you bring and the way you approach people and problems.
If you’re currently working as a traditional HR Partner in a large organisation or government department, this might feel like a shift. We’re looking for someone who thrives on variety and doesn’t need a big internal structure to lean on.

While we have core business hours, we offer flexibility in how you start and end your day. You’ll have autonomy in how you structure your work, so long as it meets the needs of the business and our clients
There is an opportunity to participate in a monthly RDO arrangement
