We’re Alignr — a modern recruitment partner & Talent Advisory helping high-impact businesses hire and grow the right way. This time, we’re exclusively partnering with a Tech infrastructure business.
They’ve redefined what HR means to the business. After an internal move into a newly created role (People Capability), they need a Senior HR Business Partner to help scale it — someone who likes to be visible in both the office and workshops to drive change and impact.
Are you looking for?
- You want to own your patch but work with a supportive, smart HR Director & Capability Manager?
- You love variety: strategy one minute, ER conversation the next?
- Want to see ideation to delivery come to fruition? Actually see the results
- You want to be visible and impactful, not stuck behind a desk?
- You want influence and trust, not just tick-box HR?
- You thrive in fast-moving, people-first environments where your ideas land and leaders back you?
What’s in it for you?
- Not set a structure on this, but aiming for once a week in the Tottenham warehouse to be as visible as possible
- Paying up to $145,000 Base + Super
- Hybrid working – 2 days from home (no set days)
- Birthday leave + 2 days volunteering leave
- High flexibility – not clockwatching, just outcomes
- Paid parental leave program
- Novated lease options
- Real influence: HR has a seat at the table and support from the CEO
- Be part of a business that values community, customer focus, and transparency
- Work across sites (Tottenham & Croydon - HQ) — be where the people are
The Company, Team & context
Led by a new HR Director with big ideas and real delivery. The HR Director and former Senior HR BP (Now capability manager) has made solid groundwork over the last 12months - wanting to expand on this with the three of you!
- Roughly 170 people across AU
- CEO is people-first and backs change
- Community-focused company - gives plenty to charities, community grants
- Operations across manufacturing, supply chain, sales, and corporate
- Main sites in Tottenham and Croydon
- You'll work locally but have the chance to contribute to global HR initiatives
- Your work touches everything — frontline leaders, Exec team, union negotiations, onboarding, recruitment, change, capability, culture
- Only 15% of staff are on EBA’s - union exposure will happen but it’s limited
What You’ll Be Doing
This is a true end-to-end HR generalist role. You’ll be across everything — from setting strategy with the HRD to resolving ER issues with a frontline team lead.
- Coach and partner with leaders across AU/NZ on people strategy and performance
- Handle ER & IR matters confidently (you’ll be the lead on EBA support and union relationships)
- Support and deliver on major change and transformation initiatives
- Drive engagement, onboarding, and culture programs
- Deliver workforce planning, talent mapping, and succession discussions
- Guide leaders through underperformance and capability uplift
- Contribute to national and global people initiatives
- Hands-on delivery: contracts, system improvements, recruitment, onboarding
This role reports to a commercially savvy, down-to-earth HR Director who values your input and backs her team. You’ll work alongside a People Capability & Transformation Manager.
You’ll Thrive Here If You…
- Love building things - enjoy courageous conversations
- Are confident in ER/IR and can coach leaders with clarity
- Want visibility and variety — from warehouse floor to executive table
- Know how to balance people needs and business goals
- Work best in high-trust, fast-moving teams
- Are collaborative, sharp, human — and fun to work with
- Want to work somewhere that actually values HR
This Role Isn’t For You If…
- You prefer structure over impact
- You need constant direction — this is a role for self-starters, not hand-holders.
- You like to sit in an ivory tower, not to be seen — people need to know and trust you.
- You avoid ER/IR conversations — it’s a core part of the role.
- You prefer to work behind the scenes — this role needs someone on the floor and in the room.
- You want things to stay the same — this is a business in transformation.
- You see HR as compliance — not as a driver of business outcomes.
Must-Haves
- Strong experience as an HR Business Partner
- Broad HR generalist capability — able to switch gears across strategy and operations
- Confident leading ER/IR conversations, including union environments
- Clear, calm communicator who builds trust across all levels
- Strong understanding of AU employment law, modern awards, and HR best practices
- Ability to work flexibly across sites and be visible with stakeholders
Nice to have
- Experience across manufacturing, warehouse/workshops or multi-site environments preferred
- Experience working in SMEs
