Hays Gippsland are currently recruiting for a skilled and adaptable Accounts Administrator to support a well regarded business in Drouin during a period of leave. This role calls for someone who can work independently and confidently manage responsibilities with limited supervision. For the right person, there is genuine potential for a longer-term opportunity, depending on performance and evolving business needs.
The successful candidate will be based in our client's Drouin office, working Monday to Friday on a temporary assignment of approximately 9 weeks. Availability from late August through to at least 31st October is essential.
You will be responsible for the following
- Act as a customer facing contact, managing incoming calls and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
- Enter and maintain sales data including quotes, orders, invoices, and customer information.
- Process purchase orders, supplier invoices, and handle AP/AR reviews and credit card transactions.
- Create and manage project files (electronic and paper), and handle scanning, filing, and email management.
- Verify ABN and bank details; ensure accurate data entry and filing aligned with company processes.
- Process invoices via MYOB and spreadsheets; input Ancill/Pryda details into Excel.
- Coordinate and place uniform, stationery, and supplier orders as needed.
- Work with the Financial Controller and generate customer statements with a strong attention to detail.
- Support new ERP system implementation when required.
What you'll need to succeed
- Demonstrated experience in Accounts Administration
- Strong understanding of AR/AP, purchase orders, and supplier invoice processing
- Proven ability to work as an all rounder, including customer facing and reception duties alongside core accounts responsibilities
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Solid computer proficiency with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems
- Prior experience using MYOB or MYOB Acumatica is highly desirable
- Background in the manufacturing or industrial sectors is highly regarded
- High attention to detail with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team environment
