Finance Officer
Position Title: Finance Officer
Reports To: Director
Location: Thomastown

Role Overview
The Finance Officer is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. This role requires a hands-on professional who can work efficiently under pressure, adapt to changing priorities, and support the leadership team with accurate financial insights to drive business success.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
Prepare, maintain, and reconcile financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
Process invoices, purchase orders, and supplier payments in a timely manner.
Manage payroll, superannuation, and related employee entitlements.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
Compliance & Governance
Ensure compliance with ATO, GST, BAS, PAYG, and other regulatory requirements.
Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and financial institutions.
Maintain accurate and organised financial documentation.
Business Support
Provide financial data and insights to assist with project costing and profitability analysis.
Support project managers with budget tracking for shopfitting projects.
Assist in streamlining financial processes to improve efficiency.
Skills & Attributes
Proven experience in a similar Finance Officer, Bookkeeper, or Accounts role.
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, or similar).
Strong knowledge of payroll, BAS, GST, and Australian accounting standards.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organisational and time management skills in a high-paced environment.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a close-knit team.
Strong communication skills and a professional, approachable manner.
Qualifications
Certificate IV, Diploma, or higher in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or related field (desirable).
Relevant experience in construction, shopfitting, or a similar project-based industry (highly regarded).
