About us

The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) is responsible for training, educating and representing psychiatrists in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. The College is accredited by the Australian Medical Council (AMC) and the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) to deliver specialist medical education and training, and professional development programs. The College is committed to elevating healthcare outcomes for Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and Māori communities guided by its commitments to reconciliation and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

About the role

As the College responds to a growing volume of assessment activity and evolving requirements in the education landscape, this position plays a key role in supporting the effective delivery and transition of our assessment processes.

This role will support the ongoing operations of our current clinical competency assessment pathway and contribute to the integration of both summative and formative assessments into workplace-based settings. It will also assist in the broader transition of College assessments into real-world clinical environments.

Key responsibilities include administering assessment activities, managing enrolment applications, supporting results reporting, and helping to resolve any existing enrolment backlogs. The role also coordinates assessment logistics and implementation and provides high-level administrative support for the delivery and marking of clinical assessments. In addition, the role will contribute to committee support and other assessment-related administrative tasks, as required.

What you'll bring

You’ll bring strong administrative expertise, excellent time management, and the ability to prioritise competing tasks in a dynamic environment. Your keen attention to detail, high-level written and verbal communication skills, and commitment to quality will ensure the smooth delivery of assessment activities.

You’re a team player who can also work independently, showing initiative, a proactive mindset, and a ‘can-do’ attitude. You’ll have experience in student or assessment administration, ideally within a university, health, or membership-based environment, and be confident supporting committees and preparing high-quality documentation.

Flexibility is key, with a willingness to travel interstate and work occasional evenings or weekends to support assessment events or committee meetings. Experience with website content updates and a creative approach to improving operational processes will be highly regarded.
