About the role
As a Township Maintenance Supervisor at Yarra Ranges Council, you will oversee the inspection, maintenance, and repair of Council assets in township areas, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard. The role involves supervising contractors and crew, coordinating field operations, and engaging with the community, traders, and visitors. This position supports the Infrastructure Maintenance Coordinator with operational and administrative tasks and contributes to continuous improvement across townships. This role has 3 direct reports.
With a strong focus on customer satisfaction, you’ll resolve complaints, build strategic partnerships across Council teams, and drive process enhancements. Hands-on maintenance expertise, technical knowledge, and confident communication skills will be beneficial to this role.
This is a full-time permanent position (38 hours per week).
This is a Band 5 role with a salary range between $78,146 and $90,979 per annum, plus superannuation.

Experience and skills we’re looking for
Prioritise customer satisfaction by resolving complaints, liaising with stakeholders, and ensuring high service standards aligned with Council policies.
Build strategic partnerships across Council teams and support Recreation, Parks and Facilities projects.
Implement and monitor new systems, encourage change, maintain safety standards, and identify opportunities for process enhancements.
Apply industry knowledge, inspect infrastructure assets, and operate maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
The ability to perform hands-on maintenance to promptly resolve issues and restore asset condition.
Great organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate confidently with diverse customers.
OHS White Card or equivalent.
Traffic Management Certification.
