About You
To apply for and be successful in this role you will have:
- Demonstrated skills and knowledge in project management principles and practice, including experience successfully monitoring project milestones and deliverables, and reporting on progress.
- Strong skills and knowledge in the key area of child safety practices, including those under the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, and also Child Safe Standards and relevant legislation in Queensland.
- Sound knowledge of the NQF Child Safe Guide and the NQF Online Safety Guide.
- Demonstrated experience promoting an innovative, forward thinking, and pro-active culture within a team.
- Demonstrated experience in the development of resources, training and/or other services for quality improvement in children's education and care programs.
- Demonstrated capacity to form genuine and culturally safe, responsive and respectful relationships with stakeholder and project partners to foster a high level of engagement and buy-in to enable the intended child safety improvement outcomes.
- Proven capacity to communicate persuasively and deliver informative, engaging and culturally appropriate webinars, communities of practice, workshops and other presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to use a range of technology and learn new systems quickly to ensure ongoing service delivery.
- Proven ability to work professionally and ethically.
- A tertiary or vocational qualification in children's education and care, and adult learning, or comparable experience.
Desirable:
- You are Queensland based, noting the project will be delivered to Queensland children's education and care services.

The Role
The Manager, Reforming Early Childhood Safety (RECS) is responsible for leading a diverse team of practice and content development professionals to deliver a program to build workforce capacity in relation to child safety reforms and legislation in Queensland based children's education and care services.
The RECS project will deliver a program that enhances child safety capability and confidence by supporting service providers and leaders to implement and embed the required changes and practices within their service/s. It will involve development of a suite of practical tools and resources for leaders and educators, as well as a facilitated support component where needed.
The role will apply strong knowledge of project management principles and practice to best leverage the organisation's existing knowledge, skills and expertise in key areas such as child safety practices, and embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives.
This role is full time and fixed-term (until 30 June 2026) at ACECQA Band 6 ($126,436 - $140,976).
Responsibilities include:
- Manage the delivery of the RECS project including project planning, monitoring of milestones and deliverables, and progress reporting.
- Lead the development and implementation of interactive, engaging and culturally appropriate training materials for online and face to face delivery for participating services to support project objectives and outcomes.
- Work co-operatively and collaboratively across ACECQA through establishing, managing, and maintaining productive working relationships with internal ACECQA business units and subject matter experts to deliver project milestones and deliverables.
- Develop content to contribute to progress updates, briefs, reports, advice as required, and respond to regular and at times urgent requests for information and status updates.
- Provide informed and reliable advice to internal stakeholders, including senior leaders.
- Ensure project related documentation is timely, accurate, managed and appropriately stored to comply with all ACECQA policies and procedures and stakeholder expectations.
- Act ethically and professionally in accordance with ACECQA's values of Integrity, Commitment, Respect and Collaboration.
- Demonstrate a willingness to seek opportunities to build and share knowledge and skills.
- Lead, support and mentor a diverse project team through individual and group planning, collaborative practice, and ongoing professional development.
- Oversee complex research, legislative and policy analysis to develop evidence-based support strategies, tools and resources that promote child safety capacity building and practice uplift.
- Manage and maintain effective working relationships with external stakeholders and subject matter experts, including government officials.
- Other duties as required.
