Access to Therapy
Posted 9 days ago
Hello Early Childhood and Special Education Teachers!
About the Role
Access to Therapy is looking for passionate Early Childhood Intervention Teachers (key workers) to join our team. This role is designed for Early Childhood Teachers and Special Education Teachers who want to work directly with children aged up to 9 years under the NDIS, their families, and educators—delivering capacity‑building supports in natural environments such as homes, kindergartens, daycares, schools, and community settings.
You will work within the Key Worker model, endorsed by the NDIA and the National Guidelines for Best Practice in Early Childhood Intervention. This means you will act as the main point of contact for families, collaborating with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the child’s developmental, social, emotional, and functional needs are met.
What You Will Do
Coach and Build Capacity – Partner with parents, carers, and educators to embed strategies into everyday routines.
Support Functional Skills – Focus on communication, self‑care, social skills, transitions, emotional regulation, and participation in community life.
Collaborate Across Disciplines – Work alongside Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and other Early Childhood Intervention Teachers for integrated support.
Plan for Inclusion and Transition – Assist with smooth transitions into early learning or school settings and promote inclusion in community activities.
Work in Natural Environments – Provide supports in the settings where children live, learn, and play.
What the Role is Not
This is not a classroom teaching role. You will not be delivering curriculum or replacing a teacher’s responsibilities. Instead, you will support disability‑related functional outcomes in partnership with families and education staff.
Why Join Access to Therapy?
