Location: Kensington, Western Australia

The Nature-based Tourism Division is the point of contact for departmental staff and the tourism industry to facilitate sustainable, nature and culture-based commercial tourism and attractions on national, marine and conservation parks and reserves managed by the Parks and Wildlife Service.

The division leads by issuing and helping to manage a range of leases and licences including commercial operations licences, commercial leases, apiary permits, and commercial filming and events licences. The division also provides advice to departmental staff and the tourism industry to facilitate tourism development and revenue-generating initiatives.

We currently have an opportunity for an Administration Officer - Leasing to join our team.

This position provides administrative and coordination support for leasing and licensing activities across land managed by the Parks and Wildlife Service. It assists with the preparation, processing, and monitoring of leasing documentation and supports internal and external stakeholders to ensure leasing arrangements are managed efficiently and in line with relevant legislation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the coordination of approvals and documentation for leasing and licensing proposals.
  • Assisting with the preparation of correspondence, reports, and lease-related materials.
  • Managing administrative tasks such as invoicing, record-keeping, and tracking of lease terms and renewals.
  • Liaising with departmental staff and external stakeholders to provide information and support on leasing matters.

Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated experience (Level 4) or experience/ability to provide support (Level 3) in high-level administrative and project support, including managing complex workflows, maintaining accurate records, and supporting senior staff in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
  2. Strong organisational and time management skills (Level 4) or developing skills with the ability to plan and prioritise tasks (Level 3), with the ability to independently plan, prioritise, and coordinate tasks to meet competing deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Level 4) or sound communication skills with the ability to liaise and prepare documentation (Level 3), including the ability to draft formal correspondence, prepare reports, and liaise effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team (Level 4), or ability to contribute to team outcomes and take initiative (Level 3), showing initiative, accountability, and a collaborative approach to achieving shared objectives.
