Collections Officer

Sydney, Australia - Full Time Permanent

The Collections Team manage arrears in-house across all loan portfolios with team members in Manila actioning early-stage arrears and team members in Sydney actioning late-stage arrears, mortgagee sales and hardship assistance.

The Collections Team is currently looking to recruit a Collections Officer in Sydney. The role reports to the Collections Manager and is based in Sydney.

The Collections Officer has the following responsibilities:

• Manage ledger of loan accounts in arrears to keep delinquency within acceptable levels, mitigate risk and reduce losses to the business;

• Comply with all laws, regulations and collections guidelines at all times;

• Provide excellent customer service and support as required; and

• Identify opportunities to improve process efficiencies and resolution of issues.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A minimum of three years working in a similar collections role;

• Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations and guidelines;

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written;

• Excellent negotiation skills to achieve agreements with customers;

• Ability to prioritise different tasks and work in a fast-paced environment;

• Strong problem-solving skills;

• Communicate respectfully and provide excellent customer service even if customer is unhappy;

• Good attention to detail in all communication and documentation;

• Ability to work to targets;

• Competent in use of MS Office; and

• Confident and professional attitude.
