Business Development Manager – Innovative Architectural Surfaces

Are you a passionate design industry professional with a flair for introducing new materials into the market? We're seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join a growing supplier of unique architectural materials making waves in the Australian design and construction space.

Our client represents three dynamic product lines from globally respected manufacturers:

Soft Stone: A flexible architectural surface ideal for both exterior and interior use, and set to redefine material possibilities in the Australian market.

Designer Wall Panels: A diverse range with over 30 innovative finishes including metal, mirror, and stone-look veneers.

Acoustic Panels: A high-performance, visually appealing acoustic solution already thriving in the local market.

This role offers the rare chance to pioneer product adoption in a growing business, working closely with architects, designers, developers, and builders to drive sales across commercial and residential projects.

Your Key Responsibilities

Identify and capitalise on new business opportunities across Australia (with a focus on QLD and NSW)

Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure

Build and maintain strong relationships within the A&D and construction communities

Educate the market on the benefits of new architectural materials, including Soft Stone

Conduct product presentations and participate in events, design showcases, and CPD sessions

Provide market feedback and contribute to product positioning strategies

Stay informed on building material certifications and compliance requirements in Australia

What You Bring

5–8+ years’ experience in business development, sales, or market expansion within building products or design-related sectors

Strong existing network within architecture, design, and construction industries

Demonstrated success introducing innovative or new products to market

Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles across both commercial and residential projects

Passion for design, interiors, and emerging materials

Highly self-motivated, professional, and target-driven

Familiarity with local building material standards and certifications

A degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field (highly regarded)
