Structural Project Engineer

About the Role

Chandler Macleod is seeking a Project Engineer – Structural to join our clients team at their Pilbara based iron ore site. This role addresses structural integrity work across fixed plant and balanced machines. You’ll collaborate with central engineering teams, vendors, and planners to scope, allocate, and oversee remediation works, with the goal of delivering a comprehensive Capital Expenditure Application.

• Roster: 5:2:4:3 (includes 4x 12hr site days and 1x 8hr Perth day on long weeks). Flexibility to switch to 9:5 swings during shutdowns every 13 weeks.
• Hourly Rate starting from $85 per hour + super

Key Responsibilities

• Review structural integrity inspection reports for fixed plant and balanced machines.
• Scope and remediate Class 3 and Class 4 defects.
• Engage external vendors for RFQs, tender reviews, and work allocation.
• Oversee execution of remediation works during shutdowns.
• Collaborate with internal planning and scheduling teams.
• Deliver a Capital Expenditure Application outlining resourcing and timelines.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 3+ years in a mining fixed plant environment.
• Proven delivery of brownfields projects.
• Familiarity with SAP and Prometheus.

• Strong stakeholder and vendor management.
• Ability to manage RFQs, tenders, and contractor oversight.
• Knowledge of shutdown planning and execution is a plus.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or similar.
