An exciting opportunity to contribute to major mining and renewable energy projects with a global green energy leader. We are seeking an experienced and detail-focused Water Resource Engineer to deliver innovative water management solutions across Fortescue's portfolio of large-scale infrastructure and mine site developments.
You'll join a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, providing critical technical input from early study phases through to design assurance and execution-helping to shape sustainable water use and flood resilience strategies for nationally significant projects.

Your Responsibilities
Collect, analyse, and interpret hydrology and rainfall data to inform studies, risk assessments, and design decisions
Provide expert advice on water resource management, influencing the design, construction, and maintenance of engineered structures
Deliver hydrology studies, flood-risk assessments, and stormwater management designs to a high technical standard
Support project teams-including engineers, environmental specialists, consultants, and contractors-across multiple stages of the project lifecycle
Prepare project scopes, technical specifications, and clear, concise technical documentation
Contribute to securing water approvals in line with relevant legislation
Candidate Profile
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline
Minimum 5 years' post-graduate experience in water resources engineering
Strong background in catchment hydrology, flood and hydraulic modelling, and stormwater management design
Proficient in GIS and industry-standard modelling software such as RoRB, TUFLOW, and HEC-RAS
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams
Adaptable and resourceful in a fast-paced project environment
