The finance team provides services in a range of business administrative activities, providing advice and expertise in the areas of: finance, technology solutions, property and building services, human resources, communications and engagement and government relations. It plays a crucial role in supporting operations through reliable financial systems, timely reporting, and excellent customer service. The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Senior Accounts Payable Officer will take ownership of the end-to-end AP function, supervise two direct reports and ensure accurate, timely processing of payments. This is a leadership-focused, hands-on role requiring strong systems knowledge, attention to detail, and confidence in resolving issues and improving processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end accounts payable processes, ensuring compliance with policies and approvals
  • Supervise and mentor the Accounts Payable Officer and Finance Officer
  • Manage weekly payment runs and month-end close tasks
  • Resolve escalated supplier issues, invoice discrepancies, and statement queries
  • Drive process improvement and contribute to automation initiatives
  • Assist with audits and act as backup during staff absences

About You

  • Proven experience in accounts payable and supervising a small team
  • Strong knowledge of AP processes and accounting principles
  • ERP system experience (Great Plains desirable)
  • High attention to detail, strong organisation, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Positive, proactive attitude with a team-first mindset
