Job Title: Interpreting Appointments Clerk
Location: Carlton, VIC (onsite)
Type: Full-time (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday)
Reports to: Operations Lead

Role Overview:
The successful applicant will support the scheduling and administration of interpreting appointments. The role is structured in three progressive phases to onboard, train, and develop increasing autonomy:
Phase 1 – Core Appointment Coordination
Take telephone bookings from clients.
Record and manage appointments in our diary system.
Allocate assignments to appropriate interpreters from our contractor list.
Confirm the following day’s appointments via SMS.
Learn and navigate our internal systems, including interpreter profiles and language requirements.
Phase 2 – Financial Administration Support
Become familiar with our accounting platform (Reckon / QuickBooks).
Under supervision, assist with invoice recording, processing incoming payments (including cheque handling), and related administrative tasks.
Phase 3 – Independent Operation
Perform all duties with minimal supervision.
Exercise judgment in allocation and follow-up.
Take initiative to streamline processes and support team workflows.
Key Requirements:
Pleasant, articulate telephone manner.
Excellent computer literacy and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Eagerness to learn and take on increasing responsibility.
Reliability and professionalism in client and contractor interactions.
Desirable (but not essential):
Residence near Carlton.
Proficiency in a second language.
