We need an experienced bookkeeper who can take full ownership of the accounts. We’re not hiring for potential. We’re hiring for precision.

This is a role for you to own and manage, maintaining the accuracy of our accounts, ensuring every bill, invoice, and payment is right the first time.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this role runs the books with independence, structure, and accuracy. Accounts Payable and Receivable — start to finish

  • Full ownership of AP, AR and Cash Reconciliation process
  • Processing the daily paperwork and cross checking for completeness and accuracy including the Roster, Pre-Starts, DWS, Shift Report and filing in appropriate location
  • Drafting invoices and updating relevant tracking spreadsheets for Project Managers
  • Managing delivery dockets and receipting; ensuring that they are appropriately coded and on-charged to clients
  • Process billing in Xero. Updating in the tracking spreadsheets to support accuracy and completeness
  • Managing purchase orders and bills in ApprovalMax. Supporting approvers in managing their PO and Bills
  • Ability to work in a multi-entity environment, managing AP in Microsoft 365 Business Central for one business and Xero/ApprovalMax for the other
  • Daily bank reconciliations for bank accounts and cards in Xero
  • Following up with internal and external stakeholders on accounts payable, receivable and general accounts queries
  • Support with payroll and tax compliance (BAS, PAYG etc.) ideal but not essential

About You

You’re not new to this. You’ve managed end-to-end books before, and you’re confident spotting errors, chasing missing details, and closing out monthly cycles. You don’t need someone to double-check your work. You care about doing it right.

You're the type of person who knows that when the books are off, the whole business feels it. You prevent that which means you will have a substantial positive impact on the business.

You work well on your own. You follow through. You know how to keep things tidy and accurate even when others are late, you don’t let things slip through the cracks.

Ideal for someone who:

  • Has solid, hands-on bookkeeping experience
  • Wants part-time work they can take full ownership of
  • Works well independently and stays on top of the detail
  • Understands field-based billing, not just office-based bookkeeping
  • Knows their way around Xero and ApprovalMax. Beneficial if you have used Employment Hero systems too for Payroll.
  • Isn’t afraid to follow up, ask questions, and keep things on track
