Business Development Manager

About the client: Our Canberra-based client—a dynamic consultancy with a strong reputation in the ICT and government sector—is on the lookout for a Business Development Manager to lead growth across Federal, ACT and NSW Government portfolios, as well as selected commercial partnerships.

About the role: Are you a connector, strategist, and natural relationship builder? This is more than a sales role. It’s a rare opportunity to shape how government and industry collaborate to solve complex digital challenges. You’ll be joining a tight-knit team that values authenticity, insight and innovation.

Responsibilities:

• Drive strategic growth initiatives by identifying new opportunities and converting leads into long-term clients across public and private sectors.
• Collaborate with delivery teams and subject matter experts to co-design tailored solutions that align with each client’s unique needs.
• Represent the consultancy at industry events, panels and briefings, positioning the brand as a trusted and forward-thinking player in the ICT consulting space.
• Leverage your network and procurement insights to navigate complex government buying processes and foster deep relationships built on trust.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in ICT, consulting or government-focused business development.
• Strong understanding of procurement frameworks in Federal, ACT and NSW Government.
• Existing security clearance (NV1/NV2) or eligibility to obtain one.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a consultative and solution-oriented approach.
• A natural curiosity and drive to uncover new possibilities and push the boundaries of what clients believe is possible.

What is on Offer for the Role
Work Type: Permanent
Location: Flexible. Canberra preferred, Sydney will be also be considered
Hourly Rate: $150,000 - $250,000 inclusive of super
Security Requirements: Baseline, NV1 or NV2 Security Clearance
