About The Opportunity
As our Economic Development Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the Regional Growth and Development Directorate to deliver initiatives that foster innovation, business growth, and workforce development across the Bundaberg Region.
This role is responsible for providing general project support across the Directorate’s key initiatives, with a particular focus on youth engagement and improving school-to-work transitions by collaborating with local schools and employers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating youth engagement and transition-to-employment activities.
- Providing project support and coordination across innovation and entrepreneur programs.
- Writing and coordinating grant and funding applications.
- Contributing to the creation, implementation and maintenance of strategic documents relevant to economic development and the program of work undertaken by the Directorate.
- Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support business and community outcomes.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- Demonstrated ability and experience in business, innovation, stakeholder engagement, or similar environments relevant to the functions of the position.
- Strong ability to engage with youth, employers, and community stakeholders.
- Proven experience in writing successful grant and funding submissions.
- Ability to manage projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent business communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- (Desirable) Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as business, education, community development, administration, or project management.
