The Opportunity
We are seeking a detail-oriented Scientific Technical Document Writer / Quality Support Officer to join our growing team. With flexibility for a potential hybrid role, you will support both our documentation and quality assurance functions, playing a critical part in ensuring our laboratory operations meet high regulatory and clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific Documentation

Develop, write and maintain accurate scientific documentation including SOPs, validation reports, test descriptions, and clinical support materials

Translate complex laboratory and scientific information into clear, user-friendly documents for both internal use and external practitioners

Liaise with scientists, lab staff and clinicians to gather and verify content

Maintain a consistent and professional tone across all scientific communications

Maintain our document management system with opportunity to develop and improve it

Quality Assurance

Support the Laboratory Quality Management System in accordance with NATA/ISO 15189, and CLIA standards

Assist with internal audits, CAPA processes, document control, and continuous improvement initiatives

Ensure all documents meet relevant regulatory and accreditation requirements

Contribute to staff training and compliance tracking

Participate in audit preparation and inspections by external regulatory bodies

What We’re Looking For

Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Life Sciences or a related field

Demonstrated experience in technical/scientific writing in a clinical or laboratory setting

Sound understanding of NATA/ISO 15189 and CLIA accreditation frameworks

Strong attention to detail and a systematic approach to documentation and quality processes

Excellent communication skills – written and verbal

High proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint and document control systems

Experience working in a NATA-accredited laboratory is highly desirable
