We have a vacancy for an Service Manager to join Power Systems Australia based out of our head office in Laverton North, VIC.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Service Manager to oversee the maintenance, repair, and service operations of Power generators. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background, proven leadership skills, and a strong understanding of generator systems and customer service. This role involves managing a team of service technicians, ensuring high-quality service delivery, scheduling, and maintaining strong client relationships.

Duties & Responsibilities

Supervise and lead a team of service technicians and field engineers.

Plan, coordinate, and schedule service, maintenance, and repair work for diesel generators across client sites.

Troubleshoot complex generator issues and support technicians in field diagnostics.

Maintain detailed service records and ensure accurate job reporting and documentation.

Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Communicate with customers to assess their needs, provide technical support, and resolve complaints.

Monitor inventory of spare parts, tools, and service equipment, and coordinate with procurement for timely replenishment.

Train, mentor, and evaluate service team members to improve skills and performance.

Ensure timely and cost-effective service delivery while maintaining quality standards.

Analyse service metrics and develop strategies to improve service efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Collaborate with sales and project teams to support pre-sales and after-sales service requirements.

Qualifications:

Proven experience (5+ years) in servicing and managing operations related to diesel generators or similar power systems.

Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.

Strong knowledge of diesel engine mechanics, control panels, ATS systems, and load testing procedures.

Previous supervisory or management experience in a service-related role.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Proficiency with service management software and MS Office Suite.

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites as required.

Preferred Skills:

OEM certifications (e.g., Cummins, CAT, Perkins, Kohler, FG Wilson) are a strong advantage.

Experience working in industrial, commercial, or critical power sectors (e.g., hospitals, data centres).

Familiarity with ISO standards and preventive maintenance programs.

Working Conditions:

Office-based with frequent visits to client sites and field locations.

May involve working in outdoor or confined environments.

Occasional after-hours or emergency support may be required.
