Initial 12 Months Contract

Talent International is working in partnership with a large fashion & accessories retail organisation to assist in sourcing an experienced Assistant Accountant - AP. This is an initial 12-month contract with a view to extend and the pay rate is $50 p/hour + super.

Key Responsibilities:

• Code a high volume of domestic/international supplier/intercompany invoices accurately and timely into the accounting system.
• Review new POs raised in Coupa, check PO and invoices approval to authorization matrix.
• Vendor creation and vendor modification
• Check coding and documentation submitted with staff expense claims and petty cash claims
• Process payment run for payroll, external suppliers, and intercompany/related parties on a weekly and monthly basis.
• Ensure bank is cleared in a timely manner and all discrepancies have been investigated and resolved.

• Responding to supplier queries, Reconciliation of supplier statements, investigation of outstanding invoices and follow up with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
• Prepare related AP accrual journals for month end closing.
• Ad hoc reporting and analysis as required.

Selection Criteria:

• Relevant tertiary degree in Business/Commerce with a major in Accounting / Finance related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience, in a similar role in a commercial environment, preferably retail or FMCG.
• High level of computer literacy (excel).
• Experience using accounting system software. SAP experience is advantageous.
• Data-entry skills (both speed and accuracy).
• Target-oriented, especially deadline driven.
• Proactive and self-motivated, well-organized.
• Able to work effectively in a high-volume environment.
• Good communication skills (written and verbal).
• Team player.
