About the Role

As the Portfolio Management Office Lead, you’ll drive the design and delivery of a fit-for-purpose EPMO, providing strategic oversight across capital and operational projects. You’ll champion project governance, improve organisational delivery capability and establish enterprise-wide frameworks that ensure consistent, value-driven outcomes for our community.

You’ll also play a critical role in embedding portfolio prioritisation, performance tracking, transparent reporting and continuous improvement across the organisation – aligning our projects with the City’s Strategic Community Plan, Corporate Business Plan and long-term financial goals.

Location: City of Melville Civic Centre

Salary: Starting from $122,070.45 pro-rata p.a. + 12% Super

Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead the development and maintenance of enterprise architecture frameworks, integration patterns and design standards

Lead the development and implementation of the City’s enterprise project management methodology and tools

Build and champion strong governance structures and transparent reporting processes

Provide strategic oversight of the project and program portfolio, ensuring alignment with our Strategic Community Plan, Corporate Business Plan, and financial sustainability

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to uplift project delivery capability through coaching and mentoring

Produce high-quality reports to inform the Executive Leadership Team and Elected Members

Promote a culture of continuous improvement across project delivery functions

What We’re Looking For

Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Business, Engineering, Public Administration or a related field

Demonstrated experience in leading a PMO or transformation office function, ideally from set-up through to implementation in a complex environment

Strong knowledge of project governance frameworks, budgeting and resource planning

Confidence to engage, influence and coach stakeholders at all levels

A hands-on approach, collaborative style and a solutions-focused mindset

Bonus points for:

Knowledge of PMO platforms such as Camms and/or TechnologyOne

Local government or broader public sector experience

Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline
