Keith Home Made Cakes is a well known icon on Church Street Brighton. We are a busy shop specialising in cakes and pies all made in store. We have a great working team and environment!
About the role
This is for a full time position , 4 days during the week plus Saturdays
A typical day would look like:
6am start time, icing and filling chocolate eclairs and puffs, Filling and preparing vanilla slices and fruit tarts.
Assembling petite fours ready for sale, decorating mousse, mud cakes and cream cakes ready for sale.
Decorating customer cakes according to customers requests.
We use a lot of soft fondant to ice sponge cakes and also some royal icing/plastic icing work is involved.
Making and producing cakes/ biscuits/slices and savouries such as pies and sausage rolls.
Cleaning work benches and using a dishwasher at the end of the day.
Finish time 2pm
You will also be working with others so good communication is vital.
We are looking for someone with good attention to detail self motivated pro active with an artistic flair as a lot of the work we do, you have free rein.
Minimum 2 years experience as a Pastry Chef in a commercial kitchen environment
The successful candidate must display high levels of motivation, initiative, excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, creativity and a willingness to learn. We take a lot of pride in our products.
Must have full working rights in Australia
