At Controlworks (Vic), we’re creating a dedicated Bookkeeper role for the first time, and we’re looking for someone who’s ready to take on the foundations, grow into the function, and help us keep improving.

About the Opportunity

This role has previously been handled entirely by our Finance Manager. Now, as our business grows, we’re creating space for a bookkeeper to come in and take ownership of the day-to-day financial admin. You’ll have time to learn our systems, gain a clear handover, and be supported every step of the way.

It’s ideal for someone looking to step into a flexible role where you can add value, improve processes, and work alongside an experienced Finance Manager in a supportive environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Managing accounts payable and receivable

Reconciling bank and credit card transactions

Keeping records accurate, organised, and audit-ready

Supporting monthly financial reporting and internal processes

Identifying ways to improve systems over time

Working directly with and learning from our Finance Manager

Assisting with other administration tasks as needed to support various departments across the business

What We’re Looking For

Cert IV in bookkeeping or higher

3-5 years of bookkeeping or accounts experience

Strong proficiency with Xero essential

Solid understanding of reconciliations and accounts

A detail-oriented, reliable, and proactive approach

Good communication and a willingness to grow in the role

Someone who’s organised, trustworthy, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team
