Kilsyth Medical Centre is a well-established, family-owned general practice located in a busy commercial precinct in Kilsyth. We are seeking an experienced Practice Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate MUST HAVE AUSTRALIAN EXPERIENCE OF MANAGING GENERAL PRACTICE and will have a strong background in general practice management specifically and a proven track record of successfully leading accreditation processes (RACGP or AGPAL). Must be highly competent in Best practice software and Xero.
You will also bring a strategic mindset and the ability to identify and implement growth opportunities that enhance the scope of services we offer to the community by marketing the practice and promoting the practice to attain further growth.
To be considered for this role, you must meet all of the following criteria:
Experience as a Practice Manager in a general practice setting
Demonstrated success in managing general practice accreditation
Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills
Strategic thinking and ability to expand the scope and services of the practice
Sound knowledge of Medicare, compliance, HR, and financial oversight
Experience with Best Practice software and Xero (Mandatory requirements)
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations and administrative functions of the practice
Lead and support staff including reception, nursing, and allied health teams
Manage patient services and ensure exceptional customer experience
Handle HR functions such as recruitment, rostering, onboarding, and performance reviews
Ensure compliance with RACGP/AGPAL accreditation and regulatory requirements
Manage financial operations including billing, budgeting, payroll, and reporting
Oversee IT systems and software (e.g. Best Practice) to ensure efficiency
Implement and monitor practice policies, procedures, and quality improvement activities
Liaise with Medicare, PHNs, suppliers, and other stakeholders
Identify and implement opportunities for practice growth and service expansion
The Practice Manager plays a key leadership role in the day-to-day operations of a general practice. This role ensures the smooth running of the clinic, fosters a positive working environment for staff, and maintains a high standard of patient care and service delivery. The manager works closely with GPs, nurses, reception staff, and external stakeholders to manage compliance, finances, HR, and business growth.
Lead the practice through successful Accreditation from AGPAL soon after joining.
Training admin staff in accreditation processes.
