About us

Community Correctional Services (CCS) contributes to the safety of the community by applying practices that reduce reoffending and connecting individuals to programs, services and community. CCS provides management of individuals on court orders, serious sex offenders on post sentence supervision and prisoners on parole.

About the role

This Manager, Professional Practice (MPP) role is based in the Western Melbourne region which includes the Melbourne Justice Service Centre, Neighbourhood Justice Service Centre Collingwood and Werribee Justice Service Centre. The successful candidate will be required to work across all locations as needed.

This role drives and develops strategic regional improvements to maximise practice effectiveness and the continued improvement in case management across both Court Practice and Parole and Post Sentence streams. The primary responsibility for the Manager, Professional Practice is to enhance the quality and effectiveness of case management through provisions of individual support and professional development for case management staff, supervisors and managers, thus increasing the application of evidence-based case management practice.

The role also supervises Professional Practice Advisers who provide highly developed case practice advice to case managers, conduct regular case practice audits on staff and deliver regular practice forums and education sessions to embed best practices across the region.

Given the Western Melbourne Professional Practice Stream (PPS) are part of a wider Area PPS model, there will likely be opportunities to collaborate with Brimbank-Melton, North and North-East PPS teams.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Extensive experience in the case management of complex and/or high-risk individuals.
  • Highly developed understanding of experience in best practice initiatives in relation to risk management and therapeutic work with high risk and complex individuals.
