Role Overview
As Account Director, you will play a pivotal leadership role across the agency — managing key client relationships, setting strategic direction, and ensuring flawless campaign execution. You’ll be the trusted advisor to your clients, the strategic architect behind their marketing plans, and the leader who empowers your team to perform at their best.
You’ll manage a portfolio of high-profile accounts, drive growth opportunities, and collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments including creative, performance marketing, and data analytics. Your ability to blend strategic thinking with commercial awareness and team leadership will be essential to your success.

Key Responsibilities
1. Client Strategy & Relationship Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for major client accounts.
Build trusted, long-term relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
Develop and implement comprehensive digital marketing strategies aligned to client goals, industry benchmarks, and audience needs.
Lead the preparation and presentation of campaign strategies, performance reports, and strategic recommendations.
Identify and pursue opportunities to improve results, deepen engagement, and expand client service offerings.
2. Campaign Oversight & Execution
Oversee the planning and delivery of multi-channel digital marketing campaigns, including paid search & social, SEO, content marketing, CRM, and social media.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure campaigns meet KPIs, deadlines, and client expectations.
Ensure consistent application of marketing funnel logic, customer lifecycle insights, and performance optimisation tactics.
Monitor and analyse campaign data, extracting insights to inform strategy and continuously improve performance.
3. Commercial Management & Business Growth
Own the commercial performance of your client accounts — including forecasting, budget management, and profitability.
Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts, articulating additional value propositions to clients.
Contribute to the acquisition of new business, participating in strategic prospecting, proposal writing, and pitch delivery.
Leverage your industry knowledge and network to support agency growth objectives.
4. Team Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, and inspire a team of Account Managers and Executives, ensuring high performance, personal growth, and alignment with agency values.
Provide feedback, training, and mentorship to strengthen skills and foster confidence.
Uphold a collaborative team culture that values curiosity, accountability, and innovation.
Act as a culture carrier within the agency, promoting connection, care, and professionalism.
Key Selection Criteria
Essential
Minimum 6 years of experience in digital marketing account management, ideally within an agency.
Proven ability to manage large, complex client accounts with multiple moving parts.
Deep expertise in digital marketing — paid media, SEO, content marketing, CRM, social media.
Strong understanding of marketing funnels, conversion strategies, and customer journey mapping.
High-level analytical skills with the ability to derive actionable insights from data and translate them into business outcomes.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills — confident in presenting, influencing, and storytelling.
Demonstrated commercial acumen, including budget ownership and revenue growth.
Strong team leadership experience with a track record of coaching and developing talent.
Desirable
Experience contributing to new business pitches and proposals.
Familiarity with relevant marketing platforms and analytics tools (e.g. Meta Ads, Google Ads, GA4, HubSpot, SEMrush).
A natural curiosity for industry trends and emerging technologies.
