Step into a role where every day brings the opportunity to change lives and be supported while you do it.

At Lives Lived Well, we’ve been supporting people impacted by alcohol and other drugs for over 50 years. Our work also extends to those facing challenges with mental health and gambling. As we continue to grow, we’re building a strong reputation for clinical excellence, innovation, and integrity and we’d love for you to be part of our journey.

If you believe in recovery, approach your work with curiosity and critical thinking, and thrive in a learning-focused, ever-evolving environment, this could be the place for you to do your best work.

Your opportunity

We are looking for a part-time AOD Counsellor Case Manager to join our passionate team in Toowoomba. This role is 30.4 hours per week (4 days per week) and is a maximum term contract until 30 January 2026. You’ll be part of a supportive and experienced team, working in a dynamic environment where your contribution truly matters.

You'll be joining a close-knit team of ten Clinicians, including six based in our Toowoomba office. The team is supported by a knowledgeable and approachable Team Leader. In our busy Toowoomba office, you’ll have your own space to work, seeing up to five clients a day. We’re committed to your growth, offering ongoing training, mentorship, and professional development in a workplace that values best practice and genuine care.

In this role, you’ll support clients through their journey of recovery, providing counselling, case management, and advocacy. You’ll celebrate their wins, help them navigate challenges, and build their confidence.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high-quality engagement, assessment, counselling, and support services using evidence-based practices
  • Managing a caseload of clients, offering support, coordination, referrals, and advocacy to help them reach their goals
  • Collaborating with clients to develop, implement, and review individual treatment plans
  • Supporting clients with dual diagnoses and complex mental health and AOD issues
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders and engaging with a diverse client base (ages 12 and up)
  • Delivering culturally appropriate services tailored to each client’s background

What we offer

This role offers a gross hourly rate between $44.59 and $47.99, plus superannuation and salary packaging benefits, based on your skills, experience, and knowledge.

What you’ll bring

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

  • A bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services, or a related health services discipline
  • Applied knowledge of contemporary evidence-based AOD counselling and case management practices, or transferable skills such as working with clients with co-morbidity and complex trauma
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong communication and community engagement skills
  • Demonstrated ability to stay organised and effectively manage your own workload, balancing competing priorities with confidence and care
  • Strong personal self-care strategies and resilience, with an ability to maintain wellbeing while supporting others in complex and emotionally demanding situations
  • A current Australian driver’s licence and a Working with Children Check (e.g., Blue Card) or the ability to obtain one.

While not essential, we’d also love you to have:

  • Experience working with clinical deterioration and dual diagnosis
  • Local knowledge of other networking services

What matters most

We’re looking for someone who lives and breathes our values:

  • You are humble, human, and full of hope
  • You show up and share
  • You ask: Why not? And what’s next?
  • You leave a positive wake

And while you support others, we’ll support you with:

  • Salary packaging to boost your take-home pay and access to a range of retail discounts
  • Regular clinical supervision, case conferencing, and debriefing
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for you and your family
  • Fitness Passport membership for discounted access to gyms, pools, and leisure centres across Australia
