The role:

This role is responsible for case management, advocacy, and support for clients involved in the Alcohol and other drug service.

Our residential services offer a 12-week structured rehabilitation program designed to assist our clients in recovering from the effects of their dependence on alcohol and other drugs. We provide intensive treatment that integrates various therapeutic elements and supports to achieve recovery goals in a comfortable and safe home environment.

You will work to connect our clients with relevant support services to help them address related issues, including family and other relationships, as well as emotional and physical health.

You will provide holistic support throughout all aspects of the client journey. A key aspect of this role involves delivering case management that focuses on client needs and promotes their capacity for independence.

Your experience in case management and support work will be crucial to your success in this position.

We have two positions available with some flexibility to consider part-time or full-time status. This position will require working across our 24-hour residential facilities located in Woolloongabba, Corinda, and Fairfield. Flexibility to work a variety of shifts (days, afternoons and weekends) is essential in this position.

To be successful in the role, you will meet the following criteria:
• Minimum Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD)
• Knowledge of and ability to work within relevant legislation and guidelines relating to the delivery of case management and safety and risk within the program area of operation
• Previous experience as a Support Worker or equivalent within the program area of operation
• Personal aptitude for working within set guidelines and adhering to all relevant policies and procedures
• Well-developed interpersonal, communication and organisation skills including the ability to exercise judgement and contribute to a team environment
• Ability to deliver advocacy on behalf of clients and ensure confidentiality of client information at all times
• Understanding of and commitment to the philosophy of the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland and an ability to work in accordance with policies and procedures to promote the values and mission of the Society
• A valid driver’s license is required, and must have the confidence to drive clients in a van.
