Environmental and Laboratory Solutions (ELS) is a customer service focused, results driven, risk management consultancy with offices in Brisbane and Sydney. We provide a comprehensive range of hazardous materials, occupational hygiene, environmental and risk management consultancy services throughout Australia.
Working in conjunction with our NATA accredited laboratory, our Hazardous Materials team offer a range of asbestos and hazmat management and advisory services to our well-established client base in the Construction, Facilities Management, Transport, Insurance and Government sectors.
Due to our continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Senior HSE Consultant to join our Hazardous Materials team in Brisbane on a full-time basis.
The role includes field work at sites throughout Southeast Queensland as well as occasional travel to regional areas and interstate.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Produce quotes and fee proposals.
Develop work scopes and manage projects.
Technical review of occupational hygiene or hazmat reports.
Assist with training and mentoring HSE Consultants.
Conduct asbestos and hazardous materials surveys on industrial, commercial and residential properties.
Undertake Clearance inspections and airborne asbestos fibre monitoring in relation to asbestos removal work.
Complete contamination and post remediation verification assessments for asbestos, mould, moisture, and other contaminants.
Conduct occupational hygiene surveys or monitoring.
Produce hazardous materials and occupational hygiene reports.
Perform laboratory analysis (fibre counting) for airborne asbestos.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
Must have 5 years’ experience as an asbestos, hazardous materials or occupational hygiene consultant.
Must have a LAA licence and Driver's licence.
Professional membership to AIOH or FAMANZ is highly regarded
Science/Environmental or HazMat type qualifications (e.g. P-Certs) is desirable.
Tertiary qualification in a related discipline will be well received.
Person Specification:
The ideal candidate will need to be/have:
A high level of planning, organizing and time management skills.
Can transmit instructions to others clearly and concisely.
Good understanding of relevant legislation, codes of practice and standards, and ability to apply this knowledge when providing advice.
Confident with MS Office applications, and able to quickly learn custom database and project management software.
Self-motivated and enthusiastic. We work in a fast-paced environment and pride ourselves on our ability to react quickly to client’s needs.
High level of competence with technical report writing, and ability to provide beneficial feedback when reviewing other’s reports.
Can mentor and lead those around them using positivity and mindfulness.
