The Communications Officer contributes to the development and implementation of effective communications activities for a range of programs, services and issues relating to SAAS. They also support the effective coordination of communications across SAAS and SA Health whilst contributing to an on-call roster for media enquiries.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement effective communication strategies and activities for SAAS programs, services, and issues, including promoting volunteer opportunities and publicising achievements and personnel.
Contribute to the management of media relations, promotional campaigns, briefings, and information dissemination strategies for SAAS, ensuring consistent messaging and alignment with corporate branding guidelines.
Research, write, edit, and support the creation of communication materials for both external and internal audiences, such as news releases, staff magazines, emails, and volunteer communications.
Coordinate and contribute to the effective delivery of SAAS's corporate communication activities, including regular publications, staff forums, and events (e.g., station openings, presentation days).
Foster and maintain positive working relationships with team members, internal stakeholders, and external service providers (e.g., advertising agencies, designers, printers), providing advice and consultation on communication and public relations matters.
Support the development and implementation of structures, systems, and work processes that promote continuous improvement, optimal communication outcomes, and a positive and safe work environment within the Communications and Engagement team.
